This is an illustration from the scene in the book _The Vampire Lestat_ where Magnus had the then-mortal Lestat in his lair and was trying to lure him into wanting to be made into a vampire, because Magnus thought Lestat would make a very good vampire. (FYI: Magnus was the vampire who made Lestat, against his will).
In this scene, Lestat is pleading silently and in desparation to God, the Virgin Mary and all of the saints he can remember to save his life. Lestat is weeping in hysteria because he is being held captive by a horrible monster who is obviously enraptured with him and he has no means of escape.
Some notes on Magnus: He was very elderly when he became a vampire, so all of the lines of his face are deepened and the only teeth he possesses are the vampire fangs (that's why they are so long). One thing I noticed once it was too late: Magnus's hand is too large and is out of proportion. Oh well! This was a very fun picture to draw - the tilt of Lestat's head was a definite challenge for me, and I enjoyed depicting the emotion in the characters.
