Another example of Dr Frankenstein's job, so please forgive me the anatomical errors.
I can't remember the names of the people I've used as referrences, but one of them was a German (YES, German) model, and another one (more obvious) - an Arabian singer.
It's not the most accurate vision of Akasha, a Sumerian woman and an Egyptian queen form 4000 B.C. but there's not such a refference, which would give us a real knowledge, how people of those times and places really looked like. We can base only on stereotypical visualisations of them. My version of Akasha is a little bit exotic, and perhaps more 'sharp', with strong features, which give her the look of a villain. In fact she is the villain of the Vampire Chronicles, and I want her to look beautiful, ancient, alien and scary. Even Lestat himself was in love with her and in the same time was afraid of her, cause you know, she was an evil woman!
The jewellery used as the refferance is oryginal. It's not Egyptian and once belonged to a Sumerian Queen. I don't like Akasha wearing typical Egyptian stuff, because she resembles me Liz Taylor's Cleopatra. I decided it must look more 'ancient' than classical Egyptian art.
